On Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13, Summer Humanities Institute (SHI) and California State University Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars participants will present their research projects in a symposium at the UCLA Faculty Center, 480 Charles Young Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1617 [Map].
UPDATE: The presentations will take place in the Hacienda Room at the Faculty Center on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

SHI is funded through generous grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the University of California Office of the President. SHI admits high-achieving students from historically under-represented groups planning to pursue a doctoral degree in the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on the African American experience. The Center invites faculty, staff, students, and the general public to attend.
The symposium is free and open to the public. Daily parking permits at UCLA are $12. Short term parking is available.
