African Diaspora Research Coalition (ADRC) Conference
This daylong colloquium will feature presentations by UCLA graduate students who are conducting African Diaspora research and who wish to present their current thesis or dissertation work, an exam, or an article they have written to a group of committed scholars and students.  Primary participants will be members of the African Diaspora Research Coalition. 

Individuals who have participated in at least four meetings over the course of the year will automatically be accepted into the colloquium.  If there is space remaining, individuals who have not participated in the ADRC will be permitted to submit papers fro review by the ADRC and will be accepted accordingly.

The colloquium will also feature a roundtable of UCLA professors who conduct African Diaspora research and who will discuss the future of African Diaspora scholarship. 

The ADRC Colloquium will close with the presentation of the Claudia Mitchell-Kernan Award to the most exceptional graduate student essay presented at the conference. 

The winning student will present their paper at the colloquium.
